Internship in Kitchen assistant in a 4-star rural hotel in Tarragona Provincia

Beautiful 4-star hotel located very near the city of Tarragona, known for its Roman settlements, the Catalan culture and seafood. It is a few-minute walk from the beach and its facilities are set in a rural house. They have a SPA, an event room used for weddings and celebrations, and a farmhouse (a type of ancient rural building used largely for realisation of these events), plus the restaurant is run by a renowned Catalan chef.

Hotel staff provides friendly service to customers, and trains students in different departments of the hotel such as the reception, restaurant and events.

They allow students to become involved with the organisation of the hotel, learning the management while improving their language levels. The hotel provides students with accommodation in a nearby apartment, exclusive for their interns. They also offer meals duringwork shifts and a monthly salary.

The administrative headquarters is located in Barcelona, and also there they offer training to students in the administration department. In this case the student has a higher pay, without accommodation or meals.

The student will help in the restaurant kitchen of the hotel, during breakfast as well as during lunch and dinner.

Tasks:

• procurement of raw materials
• prepare and present basic dishes
• prepare and present pastry and baked goods
• participate in all F&B services marketted by the hotel, events such as weddings, congresses, meetings etc.
• help with serving dishes
• prepare and present various types of dishes (regional, national, international and creative cuisine)
• manage complaints and suggestions of clients, and report them to the supervisor if you can´t solve them

*breakfast are buffet-like but sometimes special orders are also taken

The accommodation is in a shared apartment 5 minutes from the hotel. The rooms are shared with people of the same sex.

The hotel will give you free meals in the staff cantine during your shifts.
