Information about the company that’s offering the internship:

This is an international resort, part of a chain with a strong presence in the Canary Islands, splendid facilities and, most importantly, with extensive experience managing internships of students from all over Europe and the world.

In this hotel students do internships at the reception, as well as in the restaurant and kitchen. Sometimes it´s also possible to do animation internships, especially in the summer. In all cases, thanks to tourists from all over Europe coming to the hotel, students have the opportunity to practice and improve their languages throughout their international internship experience.

Internships are paid and also the hotel offers accommodation and meals to students during their training experience: the accommodation can be inside the hotel in a single room usually shared with another intern of the same sex. Also, there is the possibility of living in a nearby apartment; in this case, too, it is shared, like in a youth hostel, with two or three beds per room. The decision about where you´ll sleep will be made by the hotel, depending on availability.


Internship tasks:

This internship at the reception in Spain takes place in  a hotel resort on the island of Lanzarote, Canary Islands. The position seeks a person with communicatiion skills, ability to work as a team and interest in the hotel industry.

The most outstanding tasks of the reception internship are:

  • Attend the guests and inform them about the services and structure of the hotel.
  • Check-in and Check-out.
  • Give information about points of interest on the island, tips for the most beautiful beaches or how to get around the island.
  • Solve incidents or communicate them to the superior.
  • Answer the doubts and questions of the guests.
  • Take care of incoming calls: Both re-digesting them to guests and answering questions from potential customers.

Tourism, Foreign Languages, Communication, International Relations

Required languages

Spanish – B1
English – B1

Desired experience

Experience in direct customer contact, in hotels or in tourism in general is appreciated

IT skills

Windows, Office, Internet, social networks

Other requirements

A simpatic and cheerful person that is customer orientated is appreciated
