Internship offer in Tourism, reception and animation in Barcelona

Barcelona is a city full of culture and arts – are you ready to experience it? This hotel is only a few minutes away from the beach and very close to the city centre, which allows students to have a truly international experience: it is located in a quiet and residential neighbourhood with clients from all over the world who wish to get to know Barcelona.

Having only 2-4 students in the hotel allows the staff to create personal relationships with each student to highlight their strengths and work on their weaknesses. You would gain professional experiences which are also valuable for your future career.

Just like the students, the team is international and diversified. This does not only ease the learning process but also helps  explain the work of different departments of the hotel, especially the reception and F&B. The working hours are flexible between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., and 3 p.m. and 11 p.m.. The hotel also offers internships in Administration and Accounting, PR, and customer service.

The chain this hotel belongs to has more than 200 hotels worldwide. They have been collaborating with us since 2010. They are recognised by the European Union for providing students with excellent training in the areas such as reception, booking, events, administration, restaurant, and management assistance.

Their main clients are Spanish and French enterpreneurs and families. Given the characteristics of the internship, the student will be immersed in the Spanish culture, making it possible to improve their levels of languages and have a quality experience in the world of tourism.


Internship tasks:

The student will be trained to perform customer service tasks both at the reception and an the hotel bar.


  • check-in and check-out
  • giving information about the hotel´s services
  • giving information about the city (tourist attractions, entertainment, transport)
  • troubleshooting: unexpected changes, sistem errors, room changes, extra requirements
  • billing
  • closing the till and other administrative tasks


  • helping during critical moments at breakfast: collecting empty trays, replenish the buffet, clean tables
  • help at the bar during critical moments: prepare some drinks (e.g. coffee)

Requirements for the applicant:


Tourism, Hospitality, Languages, Business

Required languages

Spanish – B1
English – A2

Desired experience

Not required but valued customer service experience.

IT skills

MS Office, Internet

Other requirements

Communication and customer service skills. Valued French and Italian.

Important information




€ 215 gross – € 265 gross / month

Working hours

Monday to Sunday (5 days a week; 2 days off a week)

7 a.m. to 5 p.m. / 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. (rotating shifts, 35-40 hours a week)
