Internship offer in Tourism, reception and animation in Fuerteventura


Information about the company that’s offering the internship:

Fuerteventura is a paradise for lovers of maritime tourism, nature, water sports and relaxation. This hotel is located in the north of the island, and it is a magnificent structure of high quality apartments in a little coast town near two natural reserves. 

Their guests can take advantage of the many services provided by the hotel staff to spend a relaxed vacation and expore a dreamlike territory. This apartotel is part of a large international group. They look for committed students who want to learn the skills necessary for the tourism and hospitality professions. Do you want to assure yourself a professional future as a receptionist, booking assistant or waiter? This experience will help you build your future career in the hospitality industry.

The hotel offers a shared room. They will also give you free access to a washing machine. The shifts are rotating, as in every hotel in the world, but you will work a maximum of 8 hours a day for 5 days a week, with 2 consecutive days off. What are you waiting for? Internship tasks:

FRONT OFFICE:

  • complete the news register and the book of complaints and suggestions
  • know the day´s events, schedules, service orders etc. to inform the clients about them
  • check-in, check.out and all other front office tasks
  • manage the lost & found items
  • attend complaints and suggestions and infom the supervisor about them
  • keep the reception area in a perfect state
  • restock materials and amenities at the reception
  • help all other hotel´s departments

BOOKING:

  • optimise sales by following the established sales budgets
  • ensure the best rates in all sales channels
  • apply toe hotel chain´s sales policy to the characteristics of the hotel
  • help with preparing budgets: your input about the average prices and sales volumes per channel per month
  • ensure the coherence of rates between various channels
  • elaborate the pick-ups and previsions per channel according to the needs
  • verify that all rates in different channels are updated and that they follow the chain´s distribution policies and signed contracts
  • study and analyse the competition´s sales in order to make decisions

REPORTS AND PROCEDURES:

  • introduce the expenses authorised by the management in the system
  • billing (cash, credit etc.) of the day
  • act according to new procedures and corporate projects introduced at the reception

TILL:

  • currency exchange
  • cash control in order to have the necessary change every day

QUALITY:

  • participate in the reception department meetings
  • comply with quality standards of the company during each process (check-in, check-out. booking management, phone customer service etc.)
  • actively participate in improvement groups, quality circles etc.

Spanish – B2
