We are talking about a 5-star hotel, famous on the Canary Islands for its beautiful structure and fantastic service, one that has provided internship experiences to students from all over Europe over the years; it´s a company who really offers training experience.
Front Office, Booking, Administration, Quality Control, Purchasing and Food&Beverage are only a few departments in which this great luxury tourist company has placed interns since before 2010, always thanks to their wonderful HR coordination and tutors in charge of interns. With many interns at the same time, the experience turns out to be more dynamic.
It is worth mentioning that all interns accepted by this great hotel have free accommodation and 3 meals a day, also provided by the company. The weekly work schedule is 5 days, with 2 days off a week to enjoy in this magnificent place.
Internship tasks:
This commercial internship in Spain in this 5 star hotel seeks a person who, in addition to interest in tourism or the hotel industry, has sales skills, likes to work by objectives and has experience or commercial training.
We are speaking of an internship very rich in tasks, very dynamic. The most common activities are:
- Receive and attend visits or contact with tour operators and travel agencies.
- Keep the database updated by categories with the detailed information of tour-operators and agencies.
- Favor the contracting of additional hotel services such as the Children’s Club, SPA areas or tourist guides through packages promoted by travel agencies and tour operators.
- Attend events to promote the hotel.
- Carry out presentations of products and services to tour operators and agencies.
- Update information on occupancy and contracted rooms provided.
- Create and organize promotional materials with informative documentation through mailing campaigns to promote hotel services, events, specials and more.
- Update the availability of services and prices on the hotel’s online portals.
- Track and send invoices for hirings and confirmed reservations.
- Verify that the hotel’s promotional documentation is correct and update it.
- Update information from tour operators and agencies periodically.
- Assist in the preparation of welcome information packages for clients and groups.
- Study the competition: Price, services, capacity, variation by season, etc.
- Assist the team to overcome the internal audits that are carried out in the commercial department.
- Apply the actions that the audits determine necessary to improve the activities of the department.
