Stage in Chef assitant/ kitchen in an international hotel chain 5 * in Malta

This hotel is part of a well recognised international chain, with a global presence and more than 15,000 hotels. One of its most luxurious 5 star hotels is located on the beautiful island of Malta, surrounded by beautiful islands and landscapes. 

The company is offering internships in all of its’ departments, such as management and administration, F&B, kitchen, front desk, back office, revenue management and HR. 

The ideal profile would be students who have studies in hospitality or tourist company mangement and who have an excellent level of English, a business knack and also a good manner of speaking with clients.

 The student who has the privilege of being accepted will have the opportunity to have accommodation in a shared flat with other students, meals whilst they are working and a transport ticket for all trips between the hotel and apartment. 

The trainee is responsible for carrying out all tasks delegated by the Executive Head Chef and/or his subordinates:

1. Preparations :

Helps to prepare all food elements in line with HACCP guidelines and policies as well as brand standards:

• Clean, wash, peal, cut, chop and cook vegetables
• Prepare garnishes, cold sauces, soups, starters, desserts, salads, etc.

2. During the service :

Assists the Executive Chef and/or his subordinate in all preparations and follows instructions

3. After the service :

• Clear working environment
• Ensure that all food items are conserved and hygiene procedures are followed
• Clean the working area and kitchen utensils
• Ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the kitchen
• Respect security norms during work
• Order/Receive and control merchandise according to instructions received.
