Internship offer in Tourism, reception and animation in Tenerife

Are you looking for a placement in hospitality? Do you want to learn about tourism on the Canary Islands and live in a place with summer all year round? This is your opportunity!
We’ve been collaborating with this small group of 4 hotels, all 4- and 5-star, since 2009. Their clients are mostly German speakers. The offer a close supervision to the interns: they’ve been accepting foreign students for a long time, and each year dozens of them finish their internships enriched wih a personal and professional baggage and memories that they can keep for all their lives!
They offer monthly remuneration, free accommodation in one of the hotels or shared apartments close to the workplace, and of course three free meals a day, including on days off. The weekly schedule is 40 hours divided into rotating shifts of 8 hours a day, with 2 days off a week. Internship tasks:
At the Reception department, you’ll have the following tasks:
- check-in, check-out, and all front office tasks
- filling in the news book, and the book of complaints and suggestions
- knowing each day’s events, schedules, service orders etc.
- assigning rooms: VIPs, additional beds, cribs etc.
- follow-up on unpredicted changes: late check-outs, extensions, unpredicted check-outs etc.
- lost and found management
- responding to complaints and suggestions of clients, and reporting them to the superviser
- maintaining the reception area clan and orderly
- restocking the material and amenities at the reception
- supporting other hotel’s departments
- receiving and managing bookings, introducing them into the system
- reviewing the list of check-ins for the next day
- reviewing the list of bookings for the next day
- justifyng the cancelled payments of the shift
- introduce the costs authorised by the management into the system
- billing (cash, credit card etc.) of the day
- upselling sales according to what the hotel has established
- follow the data protection regulations during the fron office tasks
Requirements for the applicant:
Studies
Tourism, Hospitality, Applied Linguistics etc.
Required languages
